Evaluation Fees

All patients are considered self-pay. I am out-of-network with all insurance companies and do not bill insurance for out-of-network benefits.

The face to face time needed with your child to compete psychological tests can range from 3 to 6 hours, with fees directly associated with this time. Please keep in mind that evaluation fees also cover 2 hours of parent meetings, in addition to scoring of tests, interpreting and integrating test data, and writing the report, which is a timely process.

Fees are as follows:
3 hours of direct testing - $2,400
4 hours of direct testing - $2,600
5 hours of direct testing - $2,800
6 hours of direct testing - $3,000

Why are evaluations so expensive?

Psychological testing can be a significant financial investment, and understanding the factors that contribute to its cost can help you appreciate the value of these services. The fee for a psychoeducational evaluation reflects the comprehensive professional time required to ensure a thorough and accurate assessment. While the direct testing with your child takes between 3 and 6 hours, this is only one component of the process. The evaluation fee also encompasses the crucial "behind-the-scenes" work, including expert scoring and interpretation of all data, the integration of findings into a cohesive profile, and the meticulous writing of your detailed report. Additionally, it includes two hours of dedicated meeting time with you, the parent, to ensure I fully understand your concerns and that you fully understand the findings and recommendations

Additionally, high-quality psychological assessments require the use of specialized testing instruments and materials. These tools are expensive to purchase and maintain, and some require ongoing licensing fees. The costs of these standardized tests and the associated materials are factored into the overall price of the assessment.

Why are you self-pay only?

Being out of network allows me to provide higher-quality care, maintain my practice more sustainably, and offer a more personalized experience for my clients. I am able to tailor treatment plans to the individual needs of your child without restrictions and limitations on the tests that I can administer and the areas that I can asses. For example, since educational testing is designed to identify learning disorders and recommend educational interventions, insurance companies consider these services outside their coverage scope and exclude educational testing from coverage, resulting in out-of-pocket expenses for families. Health insurance coverage for ADHD testing can also vary widely depending on the specific insurance plan and many insurance companies are placing substantial limitations on testing for ADHD.

Additionally, by being out of network with insurance I can provide expedited evaluations. Many insurance based practices have lengthy wait lists of 6 or more months just for the initial consult. By avoiding insurance I can often offer first appointments within 4 weeks. This ensures that your child gains access to needed services now.
